It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to knowingly sell, offer for sale, attempt to sell, exhibit, give away, or in any way furnish or attempt to furnish to any person under the age of eighteen years any photograph, drawing, book, magazine, pamphlet, comic book or other publication which, considered as a whole, is obscene. Such an obscene photograph, drawing, book, pamphlet, comic book or other publication, shall include any photograph, drawing, book, pamphlet, comic book or other publication which, taken as a whole, has the dominant theme of appealing to prurient interest in persons under the age of eighteen, the probability of which effect is so great as to outweigh whatever artistic, literary, historical or other merits which such photograph, drawing, book, pamphlet, comic book or other publication may possess.
