The Maintenance Laborer is a Unionposition within the Department of Public Works. Starting salary $22.93 perhour. The primary responsibilities of this position are the maintenance ofVillage right-of-way property, operation of light and heavy duty Villageequipment, and maintenance of underground infrastructure. The position ofMaintenance Laborer has specific responsibilities for snow and ice removal, therepair of water service leaks, storm sewer system maintenance, treemaintenance, brush cleanup, sign maintenance, public improvements inspectionand other construction oversight, property maintenance, etc. To perform thesemajor duties, maintenance workers will be expected to maintain and clean theirequipment, restock depleted inventories, work cooperatively with contractors,and continue their education and training as specified by the Director ofPublic Works or his designee. The Maintenance Laborer has an advanced knowledgeof municipal infrastructure and systems and can direct other employees in thefield.

Broadview Westchester Water Agency Water Operator
The Broadview Westchester Joint Water Agency (BWJ WA) is located in Broadview, Illinois, approximately 13 miles west of Chicago. The Water Operator reports to the Water Superintendent under general direction, monitors and operates BWJWA's treatment processes and distribution system to ensure compliance with regulations and operational goals and performs the daily operations related to it. This is a full-time position requiring response to call-outs after hours, on weekends, and holidays as required. The Water Operator: is responsible for tracking, purchasing, and accountability for maintaining the proper water treatment chemical inventory; reading meters; monitoring of data contained in the reports for compliance with EPA and IEPA regulatory requirements; performs any other job related duties as required. Minimum job requirements include: possession of an Illinois Class C Water Operator License or must obtain a Class C Water License within 12 months of employment, possession of a valid Illinois Driver's License, CDL not required but it is preferred, minimum 2 years' experience in the water industry; experience in electrical field to include knowledge and use of electrical and electronic equipment, SCADA systems, electrical test equipment and troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and air operated equipment a plus. Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Pre-employment screening includes: Criminal Background, Physical, Drug and Alcohol Testing and a Motor Vehicle Evaluation.
